Hopeful Theatre Project – 2020

Dear Sister,
The Hopeful Theatre project began as a dream in the fall of 2018. We opened our first showcase, “Two Acts of Love”, February 16, 2019 to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. We were overwhelmed by the amount of support that we had to continue making this dream a reality. The Hopeful Theatre Project is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the state of Texas founded on April 11, 2019. We have now produced 3 productions, raising over $7000 for local chapters of charities we believe in.
The Hopeful Theatre Project’s goal is to bring love, hope, and aid to the community by utilizing local talent through the performing arts to benefit various charity organizations. This February, we are presenting our third showcase “That Thing Called Love,” once again benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities. The showcase will be February 7th-9th at Theatre of North Texas.

The Hopeful Theatre Project is looking for some incredible individuals and organizations to join our team. A donation of any amount will help us with the upfront production costs required to make this event happen.

In addition to our sponsorship packages, we are looking for
supporters who are willing to donate items that are needed for our
production such as construction materials, meals for our cast, and
printing services. We can also accept donations of any amount, or
customize any of our sponsorship packages. Every dollar of ticket
sales for any Hopeful production goes directly to the charity we are
supporting; that is why we depend so heavily on sponsorships and
donations. We would love for you to become a part of the Hopeful
If you would like to join us in our mission and/or have any questions,
please send me an email at sponsors@thehopefultheatreproject.com. I
would love to chat with you more about who we are, what we do, and
how you can help us make a difference.
With Love,
Jessica Cope (Alpha Class ’12)
President / Producer
The Hopeful Theatre Project

January 6-11, 2020 – ZX Recruitment Week Help Needed

From the chapter:

This year for recruitment week, Zeta Chi won’t be having a decorating committee like they have in the past. We need all hands on deck on the floor recruiting each day. We’re hoping that a handful of you would be willing and able to come into Waco for Formal Recruitment and help the recruitment team decorate. The nights that they would need your help are January 6th to the 11th. The first day of recruitment is the 7th and Bid Day is the 11th.

If you are available during these dates, please email our outgoing VP of Marketing, Sam Dietzler, and our incoming, Isabel Hamburger, at their email vpmarketingbayloradpi@gmail.com. They’re super excited this year for Formal Recruitment but in order for it to be successful and smooth sailing, they need your help! Please email any questions to them.

Thank you!

Saturday,  – We’re planning a full day of visits, ceremonies, dinners and more… stay tuned for all the details.

  • Day time details coming soon!
  • Evening Dinner and Catching Up with ADPi Sisters from All 40 years! We’ll be at the Lee Lockwood Library. It’s going to be a fun night!

We are rescheduling our weekend together!

We are living in a time when our motto means more… We live for each other!  As we face a challenging time ahead, know that we are thinking about you and praying that  you and your family are safe and healthy. As you may have guessed the pandemic affects our Zeta Chi April Celebration Weekend plans with 90 alumnae sisters registered and more committed to attending.

We are not canceling! We have paid money to vendors and it’s not possible for the ZX Alumnae Association to shoulder an entire cancellation of the event.

We are rescheduling AGAIN for next spring,
APRIL 16-17, 2021.

(There’s no home football game. It might be Silobration weekend too… but that’s not public yet.) We are hoping to BE THE FIRST to reschedule a fun time away. If you cannot attend on the new dates, we will refund your registration on a case by case basis.

We know that you understand. We can’t wait to be together in a world where it’s okay to hug, throw diamonds and kick up our heels! Please be patient with us as the Saturday daytime events are being adjusted. So, it’s not gone, we just have to wait a little longer.

If we didn’t answer your question in our comments below, please reach out to us. Reach out anyway to just say ‘hello’ too!

What should you do If you were already registered for April?

  • Cancel your hotel room for the October date. We have contacted the Courtyard & Hilton Garden Inn – they canceled our group, but you need to individually cancel your reservation. For other lodging, contact them directly.
  • Reschedule your flights. For airline travel, we suspect you can change easily as well with this advanced notice and the global situation.  There may even be some really great deals to travel this fall!
  • Book your new hotel room NOW (BE THE FIRST to get a room! ).  We are working on other options, but here are two:
    • 1700 South 2nd Condos on Speight (sleep 4 comfortably, 6 on the couch)  https://1700south2nd.com/ We have stayed here many times, and it’s wonderful. They have 10 condos on campus, so let’s fill the whole complex. Find a group and share the cost, $170 per night.  Email ashley@1700south2nd.com with your name, cell phone number, and the email address you’d like the invoice emailed to.  Please reference the dates 10/2-10/4 and the Alpha Delta Pi Chapter Anniversary to get the 10% discount. ACT FAST! BE THE FIRST!
    • If you want a bigger group together, Waco Vacation Rentals has houses that can accommodate 4+. https://wacovacationrentals.com/
  • If you registered and cannot attend the new dates,  please email us at adpi.zxaa.president@gmail.com. Let us know you’re not available and have to cancel. We’ll be sad, but will be sure you get refunded as soon as possible.

What can you do until April?

  • If you missed the t-shirt order, we’ll offer that again.
  • Go through your boxes and closets to find ΑΔΠ photos and mementos. We will have decade tables to display goodies.
  • Scan or photo your pics and send them to include in the slide shows.
  • Save your pop tabs from all those quarantine snack cans (hit them with some sanitizer or boil them).
  • Reach out to those sisters you were planning on hugging and start the conversation now.
  • Call sisters that might not know about the event.
  • Help us find any lost sisters so they know we are still here.
  • Share any ideas that you have…now that we’re all thinking differently about what interactions look like!

What do you have to look forward to:

  • Visiting the lion in Cameron Park
  • Shopping in our very own ADPi pop-up shop from PicsNGifts  (they’re donating 10% of profits to our philanthropy)
  • Meeting new sisters
  • A philanthropy project
  • Recharging your sister friend batteries

Look for a Zeta Chi virtual get togethers this fall… stay posted! The latest news always goes to Facebook groups first.

Thank you for your support and encouragement! Special thanks to the committee of 18 sisters who have been and will continue to work behind the scenes to make this event special for each of you.  #wlfeo

Be sure that we have your email address and contact information!
